Necessary Action or Licenses to be King?

Necessary Action or Licenses to be King?

The executive action is nothing new to the US presidency.  In fact, as many as 200 executive orders have been used by past presidents, so why is Obma’s use of EA so controversial? George Washington was the ONLY president to never use the power of Executive Action.  The problem for Obama seems to be the disregard for how the People voted on the exact same issue. The United States is a democracy, and as such the president is not supposed to be a dictator.  The trouble here is that in two very big areas the country voted one way, and Obama seemed to say “you don’t know what you’re doing, Ill fix this myself.” Now we have Obamacare and Executive amnesty.

So is this amnesty work permit program for illegal immigrants legal or not?  Hundreds of  thousands of permits have already been doled out even as supreme court  judges issue a moratorium on the funding to support the program. While the debate rages on, and the future of the permits remains unclear, if you are employed in California you have several protections in the workplace regardless of how this shakes out.

The long list of labor codes upholding the standards for pay, safe work environment, fair hiring and employment practices and more, apply to ALL employees in the state of California. This is important because many employees don’t realize they have protections from abuse if they are undocumented and they fail to report that abuse whether pay related or poor conditions or treatment, because they fear being reported and/or deported. In California, all workers have rights; you cannot be threatened with your immigration status in order to force you to work for less money or in sub-standard conditions.

If you are currently, or have been mistreated in the work place because you are an undocumented worker or even just because you were believed to be illegal, you need an excellent California Employment Lawyer. Not all attorneys are the same, and employment protections vary greatly from state to state.  You should call United Employees Law Group before time runs out on your claim. We are here to help you.
